This event will bring together a panel of experts and policy-makers from the EU, North America and Asia for lively discussion around carbon leakage and carbon pricing mechanisms.

This is part of the European Commission’s commitment to open and inclusive conversations with our international partners and stakeholders on all issues around carbon pricing and carbon leakage.

We need to ensure that conversations around carbon pricing and carbon leakage, including CBAMs, take place in the most appropriate form so that diverse and inclusive practices and situations, including from emerging markets that share our ambition, are taken into account. This side event will elaborate on the main issues around carbon leakage and the utility of carbon pricing mechanisms.
